Serviced Apartment Japan is a premium hospitality platform designed to simplify short-term housing for international travelers. I spearheaded the end-to-end redesign, moving the platform from a legacy, non-responsive system to a high-performance web experience. By combining Figma prototyping with Bootstrap development, I delivered a solution that ensures 1:1 design fidelity and seamless mobile responsiveness across the entire user journey.

My Approach: Solving for Complexity
The project was not just a visual facelift; it was a structural overhaul. My goal was to transform a content-heavy property database into a lightweight, intuitive browsing experience. I utilized my Computer Science background to ensure that the frontend architecture was as clean as the visual interface.
Technical Challenges & Solutions
Legacy Transformation: The original site suffered from complex navigation and poor mobile performance. I restructured the Information Architecture (IA) to prioritize searchability and booking speed, reducing the user’s "Time-to-Task."
Responsive Architecture: Using Bootstrap 5, I engineered a fluid grid system that handles high-resolution property imagery without compromising load speeds—a critical factor for travelers on mobile data.
UI Consistency: I built a custom Design System in Figma (Typography scales, component libraries, and color tokens) before development, ensuring that the final CSS implementation was pixel-perfect and easy to maintain for future updates.
The Solution:
Product-Led Design I addressed the platform’s core pain points through:
Streamlined Navigation: Engineered a simplified menu and filtering system, allowing users to find apartments by location and amenities in under three clicks.
SEO & Frontend Optimization: Beyond the UI, I implemented semantic HTML5 and SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings and ensure accessibility (WCAG) for a global audience.
Interactive Feedback: Integrated subtle CSS hover effects and micro-interactions to guide the user through the booking funnel, increasing engagement and lowering bounce rates.
User-Centric Focus
By prioritizing the "Digital Nomad" and "Business Traveler" personas, I focused on clarity and speed. Key information like apartment details, booking procedures, and contact support was placed in high-visibility areas to facilitate rapid, informed decision-making.
Outcome
The redesigned Serviced Apartment Japan platform successfully positions the business as a modern leader in the hospitality market. By delivering a production-ready frontend build alongside the UX strategy, I reduced the development lifecycle and provided a robust, scalable site that drives higher conversion and user trust.
